Over the course of 6 months, Rupert took part in TVNZ's Design Junkies series.
Design Junkies is a competition – six designers have six weeks to prove they are the best designer of them all. They compete against each other in challenges, using scraps and other salvaged materials to create innovative designs while working to a brief.
The finished products are judged by furniture designer Tim Webber and vintage design store co-owner Emma Eagle, with the top three designs winning the gold, silver and bronze awards.
Rupert came 2nd overall, being placed in the top three for 5 episodes.
